Neutral color palettes will always be in my heart but recently I have been loving adding a bit of drama to the serene mood neutrals bring to the room. Everyone could you some drama in their life, right? I love how much character a pop of black adds to this neutral design.
The Inspiration
My inspiration of this design was the windows with black trim and the scenery outside of the window. Because the window trim is dark and the scenery is very green and vibrant I wanted to tone that down a bit by making the room neutral.
The Furniture and Decor
Although I’m not a fan of designs that are too matchy-matchy I broke my own rule with this design. I matched the pedestal to the coffee table to tie the two together but I also wanted to created a way that made the statue feel connected but also stand out.
The Gemma Rug in Sand and Ivory by Loloi that I included in this design has to be my absolute favorite rug! I absolutely love the unique and detailed design of this rug. Although there is a lot going on I like that the color of this rug tones down the design a little. It’s perfect for this space because it goes great with the color palette, the warmer sand color in the rug pairs perfectly with the warm tone of the coffee table and pedestal. This rugs add a lot of character to this space with it’s beautiful design.
My next favorite thing in this design is the Serpetta Black Cowhide Stool. When I saw this stool my jaw literally dropped. I may be dramatic but I have never seen a stool as beautiful as this. I love that it’s Louis XVI style, which is one of my all time favorite styles. It adds some traditional vibes to this modern design. I wanted to add some drama to this design but also somehow connect the window trim to the rest of the space but also didn’t want black to steal the show. This is why I chose to go with black stools, it accomplished my wish of drama without stealing anyone else’s thunder.
I love the curved matte black legs and the black wrapped twine in the middle. Just gorgous! And even better, with a 4.6 rating there is no doubt that you would love this stool as much as I do. It is truly a masterpiece!
For the decor I wanted to keep it simple and have the design focus on everything else.
