I am a firm believer that the home we grew up in with all of the details influences our taste when we’re older, it’s familiar to us. If there was a term to describe this phenomenon it would be generational interior design style. I grew up in a home where crystal and glass decor were the staple. My mom filled the china cabinet with the most gorgeous drink ware, glass vases and decor. I specifically remember a colorful glass basket that caught my eye every time I looked at the China.
Although I love terracotta and all things vintage vessels I always gravitate towards shiny glass vases. Glass has the power to elevate a design as it’s usually associated with luxe interiors.
