Hiring an interior designer can be an expense but just like a plumber or electrician, if you want the job done right, it’s worth it. You could always design a room or your home yourself and you’ll have the added bragging rights to say “I did this by myself”, but when is it time to hire a professional? Interior designers add worth to your home because of their extended expertise on how to make a home efficient; something (in my opinion) that is more important than nailing down the aesthetic, can make a world of difference in the way your home is designed and flows.
Time is Money
Designing your home, especially from scratch, can be time consuming. Picking out floors, all colors, even something as minuscule as curtains can be more time consuming than you’d think and with something as permanent as floors, you don’t want to get it wrong.
No More Backorders or Installs
Interior designers can help you eliminate the biggest headache of all, dealing with backorders. Especially in this post pandemic world, products are known to be backordered for months and months at a time. This may cause you to pop out a few grey hairs and have to make the stressful decision of finding a new product or waiting for it to come in. In this case, waiting is the easy part but starting your search from start to find a product you love just as much in the hopes it isn’t backordered as well, can be too much. Cue in the interior designer! This is something that interior designers have to work through all the time. With their expert knowledge and resources when it comes to sourcing products, they can be helpful in helping you find another amazing product or talk you through why waiting would be worth it.
Installs are one of my favorite parts are being an interior designer. Finally, the day has come where you get to put away all of the shiny and new furniture and decor into your home, nut just like anything else, something it bound to go wrong. One of the biggest problems run into on instal day is something not fitting where it’s suppose to, realizing that a product was delivered damaged, the wrong color, finish etc. Sounds stressful right? With the added risk of that item that you need to repurchase being on backordered, it can get chaotic and very stressful. This is the perfect situation where an interior designer is needed.
Looking for a Certain Aesthetic?
Many interior designers have their signature aesthetic and style and if you’re looking to turn your home into that specific designer’s creative lab, it’s time to book the designer. Of course you could always copycat the same aesthetic, but it will differ slightly.
Designers Have the Best Sources
If having items in your home that are one of a kind is important to you, interior designers are the way to do. Designers have a long list of contacts with products that are different from the factory produced items that you might see at your neighbor’s house.
Interior Designers and Contacts
Designers have the best contacts when it comes to plumbing, architects and other trades people. This makes everything easier on you because not only do you have to contact other people for help, you also don’t have to go through the headache of finding the best person to do the job
Picking the right interior designer is important so take your time and shop around.
Until next time
