One of my favorite things to do is mix modern or contemporary pieces with more vintage or when antique pieces. I love this look because it is unique and brings character to the space. It’s fun playing with the clean lines of modern pieces and adding antique pieces with irregular shapes.
Inspiration
The Abruzzo Brown Leather Tufted Chair paired with the Martini Side Table with White Marble Base inspired this design. I saw these paired together in a picture on cb2’s website and I couldn’t get enough. I love the modern shape of the chair but the vintage look of the tufted leather. I never would have picked marble to go with a brown chair but this duo is jaw-droppingly stunning. I decided to style this design with pieces mostly from cb2 simply because I happened to find and loved these pieces from cb2.

The Color Palette
For this color palette I focused on warm browns both lighter and darker tones and of course, neutrals. This was mostly because of the main pieces in this design, the chairs, and accent tables. I wanted to pick colors that complimented these pieces.
The Furniture and Decor
To make this design a bit more modern I chose to go with this abstract print from Etsy. It’s so beautiful and goes perfectly with the rest of the design while also bringing a modern element to the space.
A design wouldn’t be vintage without a bust right? The Just Statue is interesting because it is vintage but the black sleek finish would be considered modern; you get the best of both worlds. I added some more antique pieces such as the Antique Rocking Horse from Arhaus
All of the modern decor in this design go perfectly with the vintage pieces. The Stone Decorative Bookened from All Modern not only match the side table but compliment the pack of books from Booth and Williams.
The Melange Sconces from Circa Lighting were the perfect match for this space. The marble of these sconces match well with the other marble pieces in this design and the gold not only compliments all of the brown pieces but adds to the vintage feel.
I have to admit, this is by far one of my favorite designs I’ve done. It’s unlike anything I have done before and it’s very unique especially because I picked very unique accents. I love mixing styles and showing that you don’t have to be married to now style in order for your space to look amazing.
Until next time!
